In the first phase, the scope of the project includes Baku, Absheron, Sumgait, Mingachevir, and Gabala where approximately 45 tons of plastic has been collected and transferred to recycling facilities throughout the course of the operation.

CCI Azerbaijan General Manager Rena Mamedova stated that the Coca-Cola system is constantly implementing projects for reducing the impact of plastic waste issue everywhere including all CCI geographies. Mamedova said "As CCI, we committed to make 100% of our packaging recyclable and use at least 50% recycled material in our plastic packaging by 2030. However, reducing the amount of plastics in production is not enough. We have also committed to initiate post-consumer collection programs in all the countries we operate. In Azerbaijan, we are delighted with the level of attention this initiative has received from our HORECA customers as well as local communities. Pick up locations are effectively increasing day by day."

Coca-Cola Azerbaijan has previously executed a variety of environmental programs, including "Clean Country," "Clean Sumgayit," and "Let's Protect the Caspian," in collaboration with the "ASAN Volunteers" Organization, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the ADA Foundation, and other partners. It should be mentioned that Coca-Cola's "World Without Waste" campaign seeks to collect and recycle all of the packaging it puts on the market by 2030.
