50 thousand saplings will grow in Coca-Cola Memorial Forests

Coca-Cola Türkiye Volunteers and Aegean Forest Foundation officials planted the first saplings of the Coca-Cola Memorial Forests in Bursa.

A planting ceremony was held at Bursa Mudanya forestation area where 50 thousand saplings were donated to the Aegean Forest Foundation as a part of Coca-Cola Türkiye’s sustainability approach. The first saplings were planted by Coca-Cola Türkiye Volunteers.  

Coca-Cola Türkiye and Aegean Forest Foundation signed a donation protocol before the sapling planting ceremony. Perihan Öztürk, General Manager of Aegean Forest Foundation, spoke at the signing ceremony: “As a part of their sustainable development goals, Coca-Cola contributed 50 thousand saplings to nature in cooperation with our foundation; this is a very valuable contribution. We are hoping to continue our joint sustainability efforts with new forests in the future. We thank you very much for your contribution." 

Hasan Ellialtı, Coca-Cola İçecek Türkiye General Manager, also spoke at the ceremony and commented: “Last year’s forest fires hurt us deeply. As Coca-Cola İçecek, we supported the rescue teams both with our products and our coolers. Today, we are very happy to contribute to our country’s greenery. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Aegean Forest Foundation for their efforts towards the future of our country and their support to this project.” 

Başak Karaca, Coca-Cola Türkiye General Manager, said: “We are happy to be a part of such a meaningful and valuable effort. As the Coca-Cola family, we would like to thank our volunteers once again for joining us on this important day for a better future and a sustainable natural life.”  

"Coca-Cola Türkiye Memorial Forests" with a scale of 50,000 trees in total are planned also for Adana and Elazığ regions in addition to Bursa with the donations of Coca-Cola Türkiye.
